Tourism is an important source of revenue for Turkey. While this source of income should be increased steadily, there sources of future generations and tomorrows should not be exhausted from today. In a world in which every child born owes birth, development cannot be mentioned. Even if it is mentioned, economic retardation can be mentioned. The perception of tourism as an industry and the implementation of sustainable tourism policies impede the ruthless use of there sources of future generations and tomorrows. The tourism industry, which was discussed critically in the article, was evaluated through the popular holiday region Bodrum. Secondary data on Bodrum were obtained from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Bodrum Municipality and Bodrum Chamber of Commerce. The notes received in the on-site observations and face to face interviews were compiled. Information about touristic facilities in Bodrum is included. In the conclusion section, the things to be done and suggestions for improving the problematic issues mentioned in the study were reported. Establish a sustainable tourism industry in Turkey it has problematisation whether this is possible.
Sürdürülebilir Turizm Endüstrisi Kurmak Mümkün Müdür? “Bodrum Örneği”
Turizm, Türkiye için önemli bir gelir kaynağıdır. Bu gelir kaynağının istikrarlı bir şekilde arttırılması gerekirken gelecek nesillerin, yarınların kaynakları bugünden tüketilmemelidir. Doğan her çocuğun borçlu doğduğu bir dünyada tam anlamıyla kalkınmadan bahsedilemez. Bahsedilse bile geri kalmışlıktan bahsedilebilir. Turizmin bir endüstri dalı olarak algılanması ve sürdürülebilir turizm politikalarının hayata geçirilmesi gelecek nesillerin, yarınların kaynaklarının kullanılmasına engel teşkil eder. Yazıda eleştirel olarak ele alınan turizm endüstrisi, gözde tatil yöresi Bodrum üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir. Çeşitli yerli ve yabancı yazarların görüşlerine yer verilen derleme makalesi mahiyetindeki çalışmada, Bodrum üzerine ikincil veriler Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı, Bodrum Belediyesi ve Bodrum Ticaret Odası’ndan sağlanmıştır. Yerinde gözlem ve yüz yüze görüşmelerde alınan notlar derlenerek Bodrum’da bulunan turistik tesisler ve işletmeler hakkında bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde çalışmada bahsedilen sorunlu konuların iyileştirilmesi için yapılması gerekenler, öneriler bildirilmiştir. Türkiye’de sürdürülebilir turizm endüstrisi kurmanın mümkün olup olmadığı sorunsallaştırılmıştır.
