Current account sustailiability is one of the main problems in open economies. Since high current account deficits increase the probability of economic crisis, it becomes neccesary to determine whether the current account deficits are sustainable or not. The sustainability of current account deficits can be theoretically analyzed with the Intertemporal Model Of The Current Account, as well as it can be evaluated by macroeconomic and structural factors. In this study, the sustainability of Turkish current account deficits is examined by various macroeconomic and structural factors after the 2001 economic crisis.
TÜRKİYE'DE CARİ İŞLEMLER AÇIKLARININ SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİRLİĞİ
Cari işlemler açıklanılın sürdürülebüiriiği dışa açık ekonomiierdeki temel sorunlardan bilidir. Yüksek düzeydeki cari işlemler açıklarının ekonomik kriz olasılığım arttırması, cari işlemler açığının sürdürülebilir olup olmadığının belirlenmesini gerekli hale getirmektedir. Cari işlemler açıklarının sürdürülebilirliği teorik olarak Cari İşlemler Hesabına Dönemler Arası Yaklaşım Modeli'yle analiz edilebileceği gibi makroekonomik ve yapısal faktörler aracılığıyla da değerlendirilebilir. Bu çalışmada, 2001 ekonomik krizi sonrasında Türkiye cari işlemler açıklarının sürdürülebilirliği çeşitli makroekonomik ve yapısal ['aktörler çerçevesinde incelenmektedir.
